2012 McLaren MP4-12C GT3

McLaren Automotive will soon debut in the GT sports car with a limited number of 2012 McLaren MP4-12C GT3. For the first time they will be on display at the European FIA GT3 races.

In only one year were developed from the sports car McLaren MP4-12C a GT3 race car. Customer teams are supported in the 2012 season at McLaren GT engineers, and have access to a large range of spare parts during each race. Between races, the teams have the opportunity to use the McLaren’s race simulator in order to gain experience with the McLaren MP4-12C.

On 8 and 9 April will celebrate a McLaren MP4-12C sports car, the GT3 race car is built, his debut as a safety car in the FIA GT1 World Championship champion, at the Circuit Paul Armagnac (Nagaro) in France.

Fans of the Blancpain Endurance Series 2012 will see a total of 12 McLaren MP4-12C GT3 race car in this race. Start of this race is in April in Monza.

The privateer team of Gemballa Racing and Doerr Motorsport will start this year with GT3s at the VLN races. Even with the 24-hour race at the Nurburgring in May they go with McLaren GT3 at the start.

With different races and standings throughout Europe, as the FIA GT Championship, the French FIA GT1 race, the International GT Open race and the 24h of Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium and Spain, the new McLaren MP4-12C GT3 will be also used.

MP4-12C GT3 impressed with Formula 1 technology. The MP4-12C GT3 convinces above all with a slight revolution from one piece molded carbon chassis (the “single cell”), which is found in no other GT3 car. In the run but still the obligatory “Balance of performance” will be performed to determine the precise features of the super sports car and adjust if necessary the rules of the VLN.
