2013 Chevrolet Onix
The São Paulo Hall 2012 is leaving an offensive of new products dedicated to South America in general, an emerging market that increasingly takes more importance in sales thanks to the strength of the economy of Rio de Janeiro. General Motors has submitted in the Brazilian event that will be one of its most important models commercially speaking, the Chevrolet Onix.
Chevrolet Onix With five-door body will have 1.0 and 1.4 liter Flex-Fuel engines, which can run on either gasoline or ethanol, something essential for the Brazilian market. Its size will be relatively generous for the segment, with 2.53 meters wheelbase, using the small platform of General Motors, which already use the Chevrolet Cobalt and the Chevrolet Spin aimed at emerging economies.
Designed and manufactured in Brazil, Chevrolet Onix will be located within the B segment, in the utilities/multipurpose, and we could say that it shared aspirations with the already known Aveo/Sonic European and North American. Some of his rivals in the Brazilian market will be the successful Volkswagen Gol or the new Hyundai HB20, and to compete against them, the Onyx believes in a modern and attractive design, with three levels of finish (LS, LT and LTZ) and technology and multimedia equipment such as Chevrolet MyLink, capable of integrating with smartphones.
In chassis, the bet is made by comfort with suspensions slightly elevated with respect to which we are accustomed in Europe, with specifications tailored to the roads and Brazil, with pavement not always in perfect condition. Its Flex-Fuel engines will be the 1.0 liter, with 78 HP with gasoline and 80 HP using ethanol and 1.4 liters with 98 HP gasolines and 106 HP with ethanol, and may be associated with a manual five-speed gearbox or automatic six relations.
